info from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hermann_Szobel
Hermann Szobel is/was a pianist and composer. He produced and recorded one album, titled "Szobel," at the age of 18, demonstrating, in the words of a "Down Beat" reviewer (9 September 1976), "a conception and technique far in advance of most musicians twice his age." According to the artist biography included with promotional copies of the album, Szobel was born in Vienna in 1958 and was "a child prodigy who began his classical training at the age of six" who "spent the majority of his practicing hours on pieces by Chopin." The bio states that pianists Martial Solal and Keith Jarrett were two major influences on his work. Szobel is a nephew of the late rock-concert promoter Bill Graham. "Szobel" features extremely complicated compositions comparable to those of Frank Zappa. The music is jazz-based but contains elements of rock and Western classical music. Szobel's impressive piano virtuosity is noticeable throughout the album. The other musicians on "Szobel" are Michael Visceglia on bass, Bob Goldman on drums, Dave Samuels on percussion including marimba and vibraphone, and Vadim Vyadro on tenor sax, clarinet, and flute. Obscure even when it was released (on Arista Records) in 1976, "Szobel" does not exist on CD. Hermann Szobel disappeared from the music world after this album and has never been heard from again.

We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It.

These four young misses from Birmingham took over-the-top hairdos, colorful clothes and a devil-may-care amateurish attitude straight into the British Top 30 with their five-song debut EP. (All of the songs are one side of a 12-inch; the flip uses the vinyl only as a medium for scratched-in portraits of the group.) Proud of their lack of instrumental prowess (rightly so — it's a main part of their appeal), WGAFAWGUI simultaneously exploits and satirizes the prurient tabloid mentality on great cuts like "X X Sex" and "She." And isn't "Aaarrrggghhh!!!" a totally inspired title? Musically, the songs are built around rudimentary drums and guitar (yes, they do use their fuzzbox), occasional bass and unbridled enthusiasm.
(above text stolen from trouser press)
They then released more "pop" influenced records over the succeeding years, check out the vinyl i have right here.

Warzone - Warzone (1989)

The reason im most excited about this record is i can barely find any trace of it at all.
Its listed on their wiki page discography, its on amazon (but says it got discontinued back in 1992 and 2 second hand sellers were selling it for like $20 and nearly $100) apart from that i can barely find it online at all, no blogs host it, its in a couple of none working old demonoid torrents, and most discographies i saw dont even mention it.
if you like crossover stuff like COC, Ludichrist, DRI, Gangreen aswell as bands such as the cro mags and agnostic front you should like it.
*as a bonus, it sounded like the last track had reversed speech in so i recorded it all playing backwards, still cant tell what it says tbh, if you can transcribe it let me know*

Track Listing

Released for Coyote Records by Twin/Tone Records January 29, 1987. It sold 1,745 vinyl copies and is now "out of print"
Gut Bank was a Hoboken, NJ quartet whose original lineup included Sonic Youth drummer Bob Bert as its "token male." The band's sole LP (recorded after Bert's departure; the configuration here includes a female drummer and a male rhythm guitarist) was co-produced with Roger Miller and features a combination of neo-noise guitar crunch and songwriting reminiscent of Patti Smith at her most Stones-worshipful. Beyond the fact that The Dark Ages is a decent record, the band's straight-ahead, high-energy shows prefigured those of later non-'60sish gal combos like L7, Babes in Toyland et al. Gut Bank were victims of severe anti-female backlash in the fanzine press, but didn't hang around long enough to destroy their detractors.

The Rhythmites - Integration (1989 Bluurg records)

Heres one of my favourite reggae albums of all time, if not THE favourite, it was originally on anarcho punk label Bluurg records, helmed by subhumns, culture shock, citizen fish singer Dick lucas, i wrote to him a couple of years ago asking if this lp was still available to buy and was shocked to find that it isnt, was deleted.
The Rhythmites were a free festival band that started off doing punk/reggae and later turned into a fully fledged reggae band and released this gem of an album in 1989.
anyway enjoy one of the greatest reggae albums of all time.

The album was mastered onto 2 lps to maxmise the volume / sound.
The Sabrettes record label is related to andy Weatheralls Sabres of Paradise and if you like techno / dance music in general you HAVE TO track down the Sabres of Paradises Haunted dancehall, what an album.
