Heres a local (Redcar) indie band i knew a member of, i've no idea if theyre still going. I bought this cdr off the gutarist Luke when i was on an IT course with him in the late 90's.
Listening back to it now, there sounds like a Stone Roses influence, download it and let me know if you agree :)

Phaser played their last gig @ the cornerhouse in middlesbrough on sept 11th 2001, the day the twin towers fell.
In 2008 brothers Tim and Andy liddell (vocals and bass in phaser) formed a new "redcar supergroup" with David Stimson (formerly of talus) and Lyle Mcalmont (formerly of utopia).
Now known as The Halt, they supported supergrass and futureheads on the main stage at this years (2009) Stockton Fringe festival, and continue to ignite the local music scene, with more indie rock n roll clasics.
